About

Meyer Denim Workshop is a Meyer family owned small-scale denim studio focused on timeless design, honest materials, and meticulous craftsmanship. All denim work is carried out by Julia Meyer.

Julia Meyer has been professionally involved in the clothing industry as a designer and production specialist for over 30 years, and founded her own studio in 2017. She is originally from Saint Petersburg, Russia, and moved to Helsinki, Finland, in 2013 through Ingrian Finnish family roots.

She holds a Master of Design Arts with a speciality in Fashion Design from the Saint Petersburg Stieglitz State Academy of Art and Design, and a Bachelor of Technology in clothing production from the Saint Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design. Her experience has moved through art fashion, kids’ clothing design and knitted dresses — and brought her to the jeans industry.

Michael Meyer provides technical support for the workshop, maintains the machine tools, and runs the office, ensuring the smooth operation of the business.

Our philosophy

Denim is more than fabric — it is a companion. That is why we focus on quality over quantity, slow and responsible production, and durability, repairability and character.

No mass production. No shortcuts. Just well-made denim, designed to be worn hard and loved for years.

Materials & craft

We work with high-quality denim sourced from trusted mills known for their heritage and innovation. Natural fades, strong construction and thoughtful details are at the core of every garment. Every piece is cut and sewn in-house, finished with durability in mind, and designed to improve with wear.

Sustainability

Sustainability isn’t a trend — it’s a responsibility. By producing locally, in small quantities, and focusing on longevity, we reduce waste and overproduction. Repairing instead of replacing is a core part of our approach.

Buy less. Wear longer.
